There are main two types of omega-3 fatty acids, which prevent or decrease the risk of diabetes. One is EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and another is DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). These are polyunsaturated fatty acid and generally found in marine fish. A research was conducted on 43,000 Singaporean people. Their age was 45 to 74. They were asked about their feeding habit. It has shown that the people who took ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) contains foods have a lower chance of diabetes. ALA is found in some plant source such as canola oil, soy, and flaxseed etc. Though the marine fishes contain a large amount of fatty acid, it has no direct link with diabetes. In this situation, plant source is more reliable than animal source. Omega-3 fatty acid from marine fish depends on the processing techniques of fish.
Marine dry fish contain a little amount of omega-3 fatty acid. Again, if the fish is fried, the preventive action of the fatty acid is destroyed. Fish fatty acid can be used properly as popping fish oil. It is clear; the omega-3 fatty acid cannot cure diabetes properly but can decrease the risk of diabetes. Actually, there is no magic bullet for diabetes. You have to maintain daily routine for your life; otherwise, it will be impossible to control the diabetes. A patient need to include healthy foods such as veggies, fruits, legumes,, marine fish and fiber filled grains etc. By eating this type of food with omega-3 fatty acid, you can keep your-self sound and fit. It is necessary to perform exercise regularly 30 minutes in a day. It also reduces the risk of diabetes.
